Ice and Rain Protection

Ice and rain protection includes airfoil (wing and empennage) ice protection, engine cowl ice protection and windshield ice, frost or rain protection. Engine bleed air is commonly used for airfoil and engine cowl thermal anti-icing. The bleed air is provided by the engine bleed air system and controlled by valves feeding tubes extending along the wing leading edge.
